KOALA RESCUE Inc is a registered charity with the Australian Charities and Not-for-Profits Commission. Fully operated by volunteers and with no government funding, the association provides a free, 24/7 rescue service for injured, sick, orphaned, and displaced koalas.

100% of donations go directly to supporting KOALA RESCUE Inc’s operations, ensuring effective rescue efforts and essential care for koalas in need.

Nutrition

• Donations help our carers provide vital nutritional support for rehabilitating adult koalas and raising orphaned joeys. This includes marsupial milk formulas, colostrum support, and probiotics.
• A joey can stay in care for up to 6-9 months, depending on its size and age, requiring a continuous supply of these products.
• Each pack of formula costs $34, and a joey typically uses 7-8 packs during its care. A $100 donation can supply a joey with several months’ worth of formula, offering invaluable support for its recovery.

Medication

• Donations also fund medications critical for the koalas’ rehabilitation. These include pain relief and treatments for infections, such as those caused by Candida.

Rescue Equipment

• To ensure a safe and low-stress rescue for each koala, donations enable  KOALA RESCUE Inc to purchase and maintain the necessary equipment to handle sick, injured, orphaned, or displaced koalas.

Housing and Hygiene

• Maintaining clean and safe koala enclosures and carriers is a top priority. Donations help us provide disinfectants like F10, which prevent the spread of diseases such as chlamydia and mange.
• Other hygiene supplies, including sanitizers, wipes, personal protective equipment, and puppy liners, are also funded through donations, ensuring a safe environment for the koalas in our care.

Google Search & 24/7 Hotline

• Donations are essential for maintaining our Google search campaigns (via Google Ads), making it easy for the public to find KOALA RESCUE Inc in times of urgent need.
• Our emergency hotline operates 24/7, with a trained operator available to respond immediately when a call is made.
• These services are critical to our operations, especially during peak rescue periods, and represent one of our largest expenses.
